في سعيها الدائم  نحو التقدم عالميا... جامعة النهرين تدخل في تصنيف UI Green metric 
  
اطلق تصنيفUIGreen Metric للجامعات World University Ranking في شهر كانون الاول  2020 ترتيبا للجامعات العالمية يعتمد على عدة  معايير وهي (التنمية المجتمعية ،الاستدامة البيئية ، الحفاظ على البيئة  ).
وجامعة النهرين تدخل للمرة الاولى بالتصنيف واحتلت المرتبة (32) محلياً والمرتبة (376) أقليمياً والمرتبة (789) عالمياً.
  
وبهذه المناسبة بارك السيد رئيس الجامعة الاستاذ الدكتور علي الشاوي  للسادة المساعدين وعمادات الكليات وكافة منتسبي الجامعة من باحثين وتدريسيين وكادر اداري دخول  جامعة النهرين في التصنيف العالمي .  واكد السيد مساعد رئيس الجامعة للشؤون العلمية الاستاذ الدكتور عمر فاروق  ان هذا التقدم هو مقياس حقيقي لنجاح  الخطة العلمية المعدة والمنفذة في خطى الجامعة لدخول التصنيفات العالمية ،  كما أشاد  بالدور المتميز لقسم ضمان الجودة والاداء الجامعي  والاقسام والمراكز الساندة له في ابراز نتاج الجامعة في جميع المستويات العلمية والبحثية والمجتمعية.
